In my deepest, darkest moments, what really got me through was a prayer. Sometimes my prayer was ‘Help me.’ Sometimes a prayer was ‘Thank you.’ What I’ve discovered is that intimate connection and communication with my creator will always get me through because I know my support, my help, is just a prayer away.

Once a man got lost in the dessert. The water in his container had run out two days ago. He knew if he soon does not find water then he will surely die. Just then the man saw a hut nearby. He thought that it may be a hallucination, but he had no other possibility. As he got closer, he realized that the hit was real! When he got inside the hut, he saw that the hut seemed to have been abandoned for a long time.

Hoping for some water, he looked here and there. He stood shocked that here was a water pump. He began working on the water pump but still nothing happened. Finally, he gave up for he was exhausted and frustrated.

He felt that he was going to die. Just recently, he noticed a water bottle filled with water. He rushed to grab the bottle and gulp down all the water filled in it, other than the bottle there was a short piece of paper attached to it.

“Use this water to start the pump, but don’t forget to fill the bottle again” was marked down on the paper.

Uncertainly, he started hesitating. He could not understand what to do. He thought, “if I use the water to start the pump, I will not get the last water or maybe the instruction written on it is correct. Should I risk it or not? “.

Then there was an unexpected concept that passed his mind that if he got around this hut again and the same happened to him that he had no water then what would he do? Because he will have no water in the hut as well as in his flask. Therefore, he decided to risk it.

With his eyes closed, he said his prayer and with trembling hands he poured the water in the pump and started working on it again. Incessant, there was a gurgling and gushing sound from the pump. He got refreshed, drank the water from the pump to his fill and lastly filled the bottle as well his flask and corked both up.

After feeling much better, he found a map of the dresser region. Looking at the map he realized that he was much far away from the village but this time, he knew where to go and where he was right now.

Before leaving he added a note to the instruction given below, ‘Believe me, it works’ and he left the hut to his way to the village because he had faith in him as well as in god.
