Red, White and Royal Blue- Book Review

This novel was exactly what I was hoping it would be—romantic, funny, and everything in between.

Let me first say how hilarious this book was. I believe that is what initially interested me. Along with that, the book’s writing style was really brilliant.
I was instantly in love with Alex and Henry because to McQuiston.

Alex had no filter because he was so sassy and didn’t care what Henry thought of him. Additionally, the only image I had of him was David Rose from Schitt’s Creek.

Additionally, Henry was so adorable and kind that I just wanted to embrace him.

Although I hadn’t anticipated the novel to be so political, I wasn’t overly surprised. Books that focus heavily on politics are usually not my cup of tea, but I didn’t mind this one.

The book’s ultimate objective was the one thing I didn’t really enjoy or understand. For example, I believe that the eventual purpose for the second half was to bring Alex and Henry together as well as possibly secure President Claremont’s reelection. But I wasn’t sure what the book was aiming at during the first half. I wish I had known from the start of this book what we were aiming towards.

Overall, I had a great time reading this book.

The writing was outstanding, the characters were wonderful, and the love tale was swoon-worthy.
